Egg carving is a very unusual hobby. It is also a delicate and elaborate art work. I should tell from the start that it is an expensive hobby. The materials used while doing this hobby can cost you so much. But if you can afford it and if you have tendency in working with small things and you are a patient person, I recommend you to do this art as a hobby.
Materials Needed:
An egg (infertile ones are preferred as they are durable)
Safety goggles (To protect yourself from the dust while etching)
Air turbine cutting tool or electrical cutting tool
paint (for coloring the egg at the end)
pencil (for drawing the pattern onto the egg)
How to do itFirst you have to find an egg that is infertile so that you can work better as they are much more durable than the normal ones. Then you empty the yolk and the white part by cutting a hole in the bottom of the egg. After that you can start drawing the pattern you like on the egg. When you are finished, you can start cutting the patterns by using the air turbine cutting tool or the electrical cutting tool by also wearing safety glasses to protect your eyes. Lastly after you are done with all the cutting, you paint the egg and it becomes a piece of art. :)
Here is also a video showing how to draw on and cut patterns from an egg:
